Competitions

Competitions and Match-Play

We actively encourage players to start competing as soon as they can serve and rally.

This can be with a friend or group of friends initially until you feel more confident in being able to play a game. Participating in match play will help you to improve your all round tennis game and provide you with additional health benefits and mental well-being.  Once you feel more confident try out one of your local adult / junior club sessions where you can participate in social singles / doubles play.  Most clubs also have internal singles leagues (junior and adult) and teams playing in district leagues throughout the year.  Please refer to your local tennis club’s website for this information.

For those players who are looking to compete in Singles on a more regular basis it is worth getting yourself an LTA Rating and consider playing in some open local tournaments. For more information on ratings, competition and how to get involved see our useful links section.
